Fringe - Episode 8: "The Equation"
A surprisingly watchable episode of Fringe, probably the best yet. There were enough strange coincidences and evil psychiatrists to (almost) make me forget the whole nonsense of “The Pattern.” The Story: Ben Stockton, a ten year old musical ...

House - Episode 8 (Season 5): "Emancipation"

jay-z and lebron james need a miracle

While this picture surely can speak a thousand words, I have to add a few of my own.

I’ve been a New Jersey Nets fan since Jimmy Carter was in office. We go back like spinal chords and old highways. Waaaaay back.

A few years ago, Jay-Z become a minority owner of the New Jersey Nets. He’s been sitting courtside with Beyonce ever since, messing with Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson in between quarters and doing his best to win over his Brooklyn neighbors for the upcoming move.

Apparently Lebron James has become tight with Jay over the past few years. So much so that rumor has it that he just might jump over to the Brooklyn Nets in 2010 when he’s eligible to become a free agent.

The Following Is Why I Need A Miracle

DeShawn Stephenson plays for the Washington Wizards. He’s not a bad player, but he never did reach his expected potential after being drafted straight out of high school. Lebron James, on the other hand, has not only taken his average at best team to the Finals, but he’s been rewriting the statistical record books since he joined the NBA.

Well, as the season wound down, Stephenson opened his trap and told whomever was listening that James was “overrated.” Dumb quotes happen in pro sports, but it’s not very often than such a non-factor player would have the audacity to say something so dumb and off-base about the best player in his sport.

What was Lebron’s response?

With DeShawn Stevenson, it’s kind of funny. It’s almost like Jay-Z [responding to a negative comment] made by Soulja Boy. It doesn’t make sense to respond.

As much as I think Soulja Boy is a talentless hack… did Lebron really need to draw a parallel between his buddy Jay-Z and himself?

jay-z wants to ball... bad
(originally uploaded by your pal Matt)

After a bunch of stupid responses by Stephenson — both on the court and off — Jay-Z decided to officially enter the fray last week by dropping a diss track aimed at Stephenson. And the name of the track?

A diss track alluding to an authority figure calling a foul…

Whatever happen to the street ball creed of no blood, no foul? Oh, that’s right, Jay-Z is an entertainer / businessman, not a baller. He probably doesn’t even realize how oxy-moronic that sounds.

As far as diss tracks go, Tupac and Biggie are probably turning in their graves over this one.

I’d love to have Lebron James as a player for the Brooklyn Nets, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep my dinner down if he and Jay-Z continue making a spectacle of themselves.

On this night of The Roots’ Rising Down dropping, Jay-Z continues to do his best to fulfill the proclamation that Hip Hop is dead.
